Vanwa-Arda - Races

Races

Detailed info on the different races available

Human

As a human, you will have the choice of living life out in the world (farming, building, or otherwise forming a homestead), or in the big city (fighting, shopping, and/or selling your services to the highest bidder). Perhaps you like life on the road; then cartography is for you! Or perhaps you are more of the social bug, building structures and/or selling your wares. Whatever your preference, the humans are more of a basic, social race. The humans have the most availability to classes, however. They are the most adaptable race in Vanwa-arda.

Dwarven

Dig, mine; mine, dig; however you look at it the Dwarves are the under-lords of the realm. Whether they are looking for the riches of the deep, or mining out huge majestic halls, they know their way around in the caverns and tunnels of the underground. As a Dwarf you will not want for room to dig and excavate. You will have the choice of supplying the merchants with the material you dig out, smithing armor and weapons for use in battle, and much, much more.
Facts

Dwarves are usually abundantly rich.
Dwell hundreds of blocks beneath the surface, generally in massive caverns.
Don't like to bathe; they smell bad.

Classes

Alchemist,

Swift, agile, and with eyes like eagles, the Elves are the dominating force of the forest. Whether they are climbing the tall trees of their home or hunting the dangerous mobs of the realm, the Elves know how to get around. Want to explore the world from great heights in order to find the best views? Want to hunt mobs in order to loot their corpses of what might be perhaps a great item? All that and more is available to you as an Elf.

Golem

Fire and brimstone are the first things that come to mind when you think of the Nether. However, there is a force even more fearsome in this hostile environment. The Golems are a race of beings who were brought into this world by the disillusioned experiments of a foolish wizard. However, they turned on their master and spread out to populate the Nether. To become a Golem you must first pay the price; sacrificing your old body and paying a toll in order to move your soul into this new form. As a Golem you will be stronger and be able to take more damage than the other races; however, your movement will be slightly hindered by your mass and consequently you may not use the weapons or armor that the other races have flooded the world with. Also, because of your surroundings, you have naturally adapted and are immune to the damage that the other races receive from fire. You might use your strength to mine out large areas, or maybe you might want to become a warrior and fight against the other races in the overworld. Either way you are sure to leave your mark in the realm.
Facts

Golems are reanimated souls, made of iron, fire, and magic.
Dumb as a brick of iron.
Much tougher than anything the overworld has seen before.

Classes

Merchant,
Miner,
Smith,

Nyad

Most people think that these watery figures are a myth; but they are only too real. No one knows where the Nyads came from, but most appear to be converted from other races. To become a Nyad all you must do is pay a toll and sink beneath the murky waters into the waiting arms of your new people. As a Nyad you will be able to move and breath freely in the ocean depths. You may come onto land, but you will be out of your environment and may spook the other races of the realm. You may wish to hunt for the fish that feed your people, or defend your people against the other races that try to hunt them down.
Facts

Are allergic to air.
Their favorite thing in the world is gold.
Don't need to bathe.

Classes

Alchemist,
Arcanist,

Can't wear anything but stylish gold armor

Effects
